Hi, My name is Maya Avila. I am an aspiring Graphic Designer who wants to learn and grow in the Graphic Design field. My work reflects my colorful and playful personality. When I create pieces I want viewers to be able to connect with the message I am trying to convey. Storytelling is a skill that I believe is very influential and can inspire others to change their environment or connect people together. Utilizing this technique, I aspire to increase my variety of skillsets and improve my visual communication skills.
I am a San Jose State University graduate and achieved a BA in Design Studies with a specialization in Animation/Illustration as well as a minor in Graphic Design. As someone who is a first generation college graduate, I have an abundance of determination and a great work ethic to complement it. I am a reliable member of a team, organized, passionate about my field, and a quick learner. My quest of knowledge drives my ability to grow and learn new skills.
When I am not working on new projects, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, reading, playing videogames, volunteering in my community, and learning more about my craft. I am always keeping busy and working on something new. Be sure to keep an eye out for what I am working on next!
